Devina Lookman is a ceramic artist and pottery instructor based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Her journey with clay began in 2019, first through a workshop that led into multi-week classes and eventually an ongoing studio practice shaped through self-teaching, residencies, and mentorship.

Her practice is grounded in material exploration and the embodied, somatic experience of working with clay. She is drawn to ceramics as a therapeutic and relational medium that invites slowing down, attention, and presence through touch. In the studio, she embraces what she playfully calls “dilly dallying” as a way of working that values process as much as finished work.

Devina holds an undergraduate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Waterloo’s Arts and Business program. Her professional background spans extensive workshop facilitation where she has continued to explore the intersection of creative practice, community engagement, and wellbeing. Rather than framing her work as mental wellness or conflict resolution programming, she is most interested in how art-making itself becomes a channel for reflection, care, connection and transformation.
